Baggage Area

This section is a hybrid of quick build and standard build steps.

Framing of the baggage area proved to be a simple but painstaking step.  It does require close following of the instructions on page 33-3.  We made a minor error in step 8 and accidentally used non-flush blind rivets for the the first couple of rows against the far wall.  Since it is the baggage compartment and it will have carpet over the floor we decided to leave those in place rather than drill them out all over again.  It was a lesson against complacency when there is a large mundane task of mindless rivet pulling.

Its mentioned in the notes that we should think about running cables and wire in this section. We didn't have any wires to run yet but elected to run conduit down both sides to aid in pulling wires for avionics and other support switches.

No other piece has been put in place and removed more than the Tailcone Forward Skin.  We thought we might actually be able to rivet it in place this time around...Not to be!  We removed it again and riveted in the nutplates required to secure the bulkheads in place.
